The Status of Free-Range Chicken Breeding in Ni?de City, Çamard? District

This research; Within the scope of the “Free-range Egg Production Project” implemented in the district of Çamard? in Ni?de province, it has aimed to reveal the satisfaction of the producers regarding the production system in the production enterprises, the egg production of the animals, the shelter, disease and marketing channels based on the producer information. The main material of this study is the data obtained from the business owners through face-to-face survey. Within the scope of this project, face-to-face survey with all producers with 10 tents and 5 prefabricated house engaged in free egg poultry were conducted in July 2019. In order to answer the questions more accurately, it was done in an environment where at least two people were present in the business. The socio-demographic characteristics of the people participating in the survey were analysed with the help of percentage frequency. In the study, the commitment of the groups to each other was determined by the chi-square test. The gender, marital status, educational status of women and men, the caretaker of the poultry, the frequency of cleaning, the live weight of chickens, the size of the eggs produced, respiratory diseases, treatment against diseases, selling method of produced products and opinions of the producers about feed prices it is not relevant, but breed satisfaction, incidence of chicken plague and the opinions of producers about egg prices vary according to the housing type. As a result; It can be said that from the perspective of the breeders, both housing type not very different from each other. However, experimental studies need to determine why chicken plague, which is one of the titles with dependence on the breeding system, is seen more in the prefabricated houses.
