Abstract

As it is known, poultry science has developed rapidly both scientifically and as a sector in the last fifty years. The development has been faster than other species, especially in the chicken species. Especially in meeting the animal protein requirement of people, the more advantageous and controlled production of the chicken species played an important role in this development. Therefore, the chicken species has come to the front in intensive production. Generally, scientific research has often focused on this species. On the other hand, research on alternative poultry species such as quail, turkey, goose, duck, ostrich, etc. is carried out by lovers of breeding some species that stand out as show and ornamental animals. However, it would be optimistic to say that there is sufficient scientific research on this production.  Also poultry species as a whole; Genetics and breeding, production, feeding, hosting, reproduction, welfare and behaviour, animal health, mechanization, processing technologies, and product quality, production, and marketing economy were needed.

For this reason, “Turkish Science and Technology Publishing (TURSTEP)” has started its publication life as “International Poultry - Ornamental Birds Journal of Science and Technology (IJAPOB)”. In the journal, it will make scientific publications to include ornamental birds as well as poultry species.

We expect the support of all scientists and industry representatives in our journal.
