The Effect of Heat Stress on Egg Quality Properties : A Review.

The effect of heat stress on egg quality in the poultry industry causes economic losses for producers in almost all production systems, breeds and geographical regions on a global scale. As a result of the researches, heat stress; oxidative stress, acid-base imbalance, biochemical, physiological and hormonal changes, malfunctions in the endocrine system, and as a result of these effects, feed intake can be reduced and feed taken cannot be evaluated. The interaction between these problems caused by heat stress and as a result of this interactions, problems in egg internal and external quality, malfunctions in the reproductive systems and even death can be seen in layers-chicken. In this review, the effects of heat stress on egg yield and performance, stress-induced biochemical and hormonal changes and feed intake, welfare, etc. The differences in egg yield and quality due to its effect on other parameters have been briefly discussed with scientific evidence.
